Finished size:  20in x 24in (51cm x 61cm)  

The apron is back!!! Our planet needs us to use less and we can learn from the wisdom of generations of women who extended the life of their clothes by using an apron.

 

Fabric

White homespun --- 55cm (¾yd) for embroidery and backing

Pink floral --- 55cm (¾yd) for apron front

Blue floral --- 40cm (½yd) for apron bottom, pockets and waist band

 

Notions

Pale pink cotton ric-rac --- 1.8m  (2yd)

Fusible web --- 18cm for applique (½yd)

Embroidery cotton --- 1 skein DMC 799 blue stranded

Aurifil pink 3660 100% cotton thread for machine sewing and button hole stitching

 

Tools

Sewing machine

Usual sewing equipment

 

 

 

 There are three sections for the scallop section of the apron. Print out each one and join them together as indicated. On Section 3 is the pattern for the heart pocket and the bluebird embroidery.
