Technically Speaking
Hi all and welcome to Technically Speaking for issue 2.
As you may have gathered the first half of this year has been a very difficult time for me. Lots of things have happened and got in the way of publishing iQuilt. These have been both personal and technical things. Consequently we have had to make some hard decisions but having made them it is time to move forward. One of the hardest decisions forced upon us is the delay in publication of iQuilt and we are extending paid subscriptions accordingly. If you think that your subscription should have been extended and it has not been please let me know. If you happen to receive an automated email that advises your subscription is due for renewal - please also contact me so that I can make sure your subscription is extended.
In the immediate future I will be migrating iQuilt to a new version of the software we use. Whilst this is a daunting task I am looking forward to all the good things and new features this will allow us to bring you. In the meantime iQuilt will remain the same and you will be able to access it in the same way. In case anyone is having difficulty or hasn't logged on for a while, details on how to access your iQuilt account are below.
As always you will need a "your name", an "email address" and a "User name". For example, if your name is Sally Smith, then that will be your name entered into the appropriate box. Your email address is how you connect with us and we recognise you, for example sally smith @ sallysmith .com.au (there are some extra spaces here but you would simply type in your actual email address). The user name is used to login each time you want to view restricted content on our site. In our example, Sally Smith may wish to use SallyS, Sally in Brissie, SallySmith or Frogaloody as a user name. It doesn't matter so long as you remember your user name and your password. This will enable access to the iQuilt site. For paid memberships there is the additional benefit of access to restricted areas, such as the project details.
Once you are logged in (using your user name and password) you will see a user menu. This is a list directly below the Logout button. If you do not get the user menu or an error message when you log in please

The user menu contains several options, one of which is "Your Details". This page shows you the details we have listed for you. That is, the details you gave us when you initially registered. You can update your details any time you like and if you ever change your service provider or email address, then you need to update the details on our site.
Click on Your Details to go to the appropriate page, change any of the details you wish to update and click once on the "Update" button. You do not have to update all your details and even though the password has an orange asterisk saying this is a compulsory field you do not need to enter anything here unless you wish to change it.
So what happens, if in spite of everything you just cannot remember your password? Just click on the Lost Password or Username link (under the login boxes). Enter your email address (the one you have registered with us or we won't know it's you) and click on "send Password" and a few moments later you will receive your password in your Mail Inbox.
If you are experiencing difficulties with login, or passwords, you can
